Turn complex challenges
into practical strategy

TSF Strategies helps leaders identify what is holding an organization back, determine the right response and carry that response into practice through strategic communication, consulting, training and creative.

Start with the actual problem.

Organizations often ask for a campaign, website or training program before determining what needs to change. I start by looking behind the request: listening to the people involved, examining how the organization operates and identifying the constraint standing between its current position and the result it needs.

That understanding leads to a stronger strategy and a better use of time, resources and internal capacity.

Leadership built through real experience

My perspective has been shaped by work in health care, education, media, nonprofit service and corporate communications.

During six years in health care communications, I helped carry a regional health system through organizational growth, a systemwide rebrand and the introduction of new services and facilities. The work required more than producing communication materials. It meant understanding leadership priorities, coordinating stakeholders and translating complex decisions into messages and experiences people could use.

That experience allows me to consider a communications assignment within the larger organization around it: the decision behind the message, the people responsible for carrying it forward and the audiences affected by the result.

Perspective that extends beyond the boardroom

Some of my most formative work has taken place in classrooms, hospitals, churches and communities responding to difficult circumstances.

Teaching communication, serving nonprofit organizations and working alongside community and ministry leaders taught me to enter unfamiliar environments carefully, listen to the people closest to the work and recognize when a proposed solution does not fit the people expected to use it.

That perspective helps me evaluate strategy through more than leadership intention. I also consider how it will be understood, experienced and carried forward throughout the organization.

Strategy carried through execution

At a five-state franchise company, strategy had to become tangible across campaigns, publications, training, franchise events and an annual convention serving hundreds of franchisees. In health care, the same discipline carried through executive communication, environmental design, public information and systemwide branding.

TSF Strategies brings that combination of strategic judgment and practical execution to each engagement. I can advise at a critical decision point, strengthen work already underway or remain involved from initial assessment through implementation.

The scope depends on the problem, the organization’s internal capacity and the support its team needs.
